Benevolent Action
Our hope would be that you could sniff out the good news of Jesus on us whether we open our mouths or not. The early church was marked by how they tangibly cared for people and it didn’t seem to matter whether they played on the same team or not.
Take a moment to ponder this quote by Roman Emperor Julian,
Atheism (Christianity) has been specially advanced through the loving service rendered to strangers, and through their care for the burial of the dead. It is a scandal that there is not one single Jew who is a beggar, and that the godless Galileans care not only for their own poor but for ours as well; while those who belong to us look in vain for the help that we should render them.
This is the reputation we desire to generate.
Beyond local efforts we have sent teams to bless a community living in a Nicaraguan trash dump. Love, Light, and Melody is an initiative directed by some Adullam folks who seek to release God’s redemptive light in the dump.
Local efforts around the city continue as our people seek to integrate God’s healing into the broken parts of our city.
Local Efforts in Denver
Don't wait for someone to organize an event or create an opening for you to get involved in local benevolent actions. The opportunities, events and openings are already there; just look around, check our links page, or check out Laura Neumann's ideas in the weekly newsletter. If you haven’t signed up for the Adullam email newsletter, you can do that thru the link above right. You can email Laura at .
Dear friends, do you think you’ll get anywhere in this if you learn all the right words but never do anything? Does merely talking about faith indicate that a person really has it? For instance, you come upon an old friend dressed in rags and half-starved and say, “Good morning, friend! Be clothed in Christ! Be filled with the Holy Spirit!” and walk off without providing so much as a coat or a cup of soup where does that get you? Isn’t it obvious that God-talk without God-acts is outrageous nonsense?
James 1:14-17
One of the key rhythms within our villages is to maintain an awareness of local needs and seek to care for them in practical ways. We believe God’s love is expressed most clearly when our tangible acts of love touch the broken places of creation.

Check out a brief history of Love Light & Melody's work in La Chureca trash dump in Nicaragua and why we love partnering with them. This is a vision we are passionate about and there are many ways you can help.
We will continue to support and send teams to work with LL&M and others in La Chureca. If you want to know more or would like to go to Nicaraqua with a team, contact KC Dewey, and visit the LL&M website for pictures and more information.
