The goal of ASN is to create a church planting network in Denver, Colorado. This network will have various facets to its work but its core philosophy will be modeled after the missional approach used by Adullam Communities.
The following statements describe the high level distinctives of ASN.
- Church Planter Partnering
Many churches in the Denver area have a desire to plant churches but often do not have a person to fulfill the church planter role from within their own congregation. ASN will connect churches who want to plant with trained leaders who want to plant but have no sponsoring entity.
Creating these types of partnerships with churches and denominations will ensure that more churches are actually planted than would have been otherwise. - Training
The primary training vehicle of ASN will be the Missional Church Apprenticeship Practicum or MCAP. The MCAP is designed to facilitate and develop a relational network of on-the-ground missional leaders that are innovating and pioneering new forms of church.
This virtual process is a blend of online study and interaction combined with personal coaching and interaction. This enables missional leaders to remain engaged in meaningful relationships and building churches in their localized contexts rather than traveling to an external training location. - Resources
Apart from the training, missional church planters will ultimately need resources to form and organize the new church plant. ASN will provide “off the shelf” templates for many of the organizational and leadership structures which can be tailored to meet the individual church plant’s needs. - Administrative Support
During the initial stages of training and planting, many church planters may need to raise financial support in order to finance their involvement in the planting process. ASN will provide the systems to facilitate donation processing, payroll and other financial and administrative support during this period. - Financial Development
ASN will develop funding to assist in various church planting efforts. Ideally, various churches could pool together and fund multiple missional leaders and church plants.
